Check Engine Lighthouse is a boutique metalwork and sculpture studio operated by Chris Bartlett, artist and designer-fabricator based in Huntsville, Alabama. His practice spans public sculpture, site-specific metalwork, and bespoke fabrication. Commercial and public art forging rigorous human-centered design into artistic expression.
ABOUT THE PRACTICE
CHECK ENGINE LIGHTHOUSE
Bartlett holds a BFA in Studio Art from Louisiana Tech University and an MS in Industrial Design from Georgia Institute of Technology. His public commissions include work for Trees Atlanta, Atlanta BeltLine Inc, MillerCoors and Atlanta Braves. His permanent installation The ConNectar (2021) was commissioned by Trees Atlanta and remains among Atlanta’s most iconic public artworks.
He approaches each commission through a structured engagement process: listening sessions, iterative design review, and close collaboration with stakeholders. His fabrication practice extends from monumental civic installation to boutique architectural metalwork for private clients.
